Why have we actually been focusing so intensely on our values for the past two years? Because we believe that values form the foundation of our corporate culture and are of great importance for our cooperation.
Our goal is to create a working atmosphere that enables a unique sense of togetherness.
How do we want to achieve this goal? By focusing on one, two, or three values more intensely each year for a certain period and having various activities throughout the year that explicitly deal with the topic of values. It was important to us from the start that the values don’t just “exist somewhere” but are truly lived in everyday professional life.
At the beginning of the “values journey,” we identified the core value topics essential to us in a survey and are now trying to anchor and live them within the company over the years.
2022
How did we approach this topic? By asking. It became clear to us quite quickly that every individual and every department understands something different by the term “open communication” or finds different things important.
Therefore, we asked the following questions in several workshops: What does open communication mean to you personally? What is particularly important to you regarding this topic within the company, in your department, and with customers and applicants? What is already going well and what is not going so well yet?
The results were exciting and enriching discussions and several measures to further improve open communication within the company. We stayed on track, and thanks to a survey at the end of the year, we were able to gather positive feedback and identify concrete changes in the company. That was the goal, and we were very pleased!
At the same time, we know that this process will never be finished, and that’s a good thing. We stay on it and keep reminding each other of our values and what is important to us.

2023
We simply couldn’t decide, so 2023 became a year of several focus values. We were interested in: What inspires our employees, our customers, and our partners and applicants? Here, too, the answers were as diverse as expected. The same applied to the topics of transparency and clarity. How do we live these values, and again the question: What do they mean for each individual and the departments?
A definite highlight of the year for us was our intensive values workshop in Waxenberg in the Mühlviertel for all CALPANA employees. 1.5 days of teambuilding, workshops, and a lot of fun. That definitely sparked enthusiasm!

In the beautiful setting of the Mühlviertel, 1.5 days were dedicated to the topic of corporate values. Specifically enthusiasm, transparency, and clarity.
It started with a keynote speech and dinner, followed the next day by an intensive dive into the topics, energized by a joint morning activation or a morning run and a delicious breakfast.
Through various workshops and teambuilding activities, we approached the topics, discussed a lot, and went home with great results at the end of the day. The art is to implement these measures and ideas in everyday life, and it is certainly a “work in progress,” but it’s fun and improves our cooperation daily. We look back proudly on measures already implemented in recent months.
