Old ways won’t open new doors. BUT: Do new paths open new doors? We believe YES, because the past 1.5 years have shown us:
Recognizing opportunities, reacting flexibly and thus creating the best working environment for our employees is one reason why we have dedicated ourselves to the topic of flexibility of work location and the combination of remote and office work. Even before the pandemic, it worked well for our consulting and sales team to work flexibly. During the pandemic, however, topics that had not yet been digitized also gained momentum here. For example, the topic of online training for our customers as well as shorter appointments or smaller workshops can also be carried out really well digitally.
What is the “new normal” for us at the moment (summer 2021) and how are we responding to the changing conditions and employee wishes? We gave it some thought and the result is:
For many, the advantages of working from home are obvious thanks to the experience gained during the pandemic. Just like the desire and advantages of working together in the office. What could be better than combining these advantages to create a flexible model that is precisely tailored to our needs?
What does that mean in concrete terms? That’s exactly what we asked ourselves in the Software Development team and the result was: Working from home is great, but there are things that simply work better when you can sit down together. No, we’re not just talking about the popular after-work cold drink, but above all concept development and brainstorming sessions. For most people, on the other hand, working on one thing with complete concentration works best at home. That’s why there are office days with a few more meetings and home office days with as few meetings as possible. They have also been referred to internally as “performance days”.
Each team at CALPANA is organized individually and adapted to the needs of the team.
Like many other companies, we are currently in a phase of trial and error. The pandemic is not yet completely over and the outlook for fall and winter 2021 is uncertain, but the 3G rules in Austria mean that there are already many more options than at the beginning of the year.
Our approach: About half/half the working time, i.e. 2-3 office days a week for everyone is currently the “new normal”.
Exceptions prove the rule and we are open to discussing which models make the most sense for which employees. Addressing wishes and then looking for solutions is very important to us! We trust that our employees will act and make decisions in the best interests of our customers, CALPANA and our CRISAM® product, so that together we can find the ideal working model for everyone.
